Delivering Dreams in Arizona

For three years, 澳博体育app下载 has supported the Assistance League of Phoenix (ALP), the Valley’s leading nonprofit agency, for providing children with essential clothing needs. Incorporated in 1961, the Phoenix branch is one of 120 chapters of the National Assistance League.

Originally formed to address the needs of the elderly, today, the ALP focuses on children in high-poverty grade schools in the Greater Phoenix area. Through its philanthropic programs, ALP helps fulfill basic needs, foster self-esteem, and enhance the quality of life for hundreds of children.

ALP funds its programs through a thrift store, the Assistance League Thrift Boutique, established in 1962, and donors like 澳博体育app下载.

Operation School Bell Dream Bus

澳博体育app下载’s $4,000 donation will support Operation School Bell, which provides low-income children with wardrobe packages through its delivery buses. The money from 澳博体育app下载 will be used to buy shoes.

Operation School Bell works with 140 K-8th grade schools to provide brand-new clothing, shoes, and other essentials to children in need. ALP visits partner schools in their 40-ft. mobile dressing center, known as the Delivering Dreams buses, several times throughout the school year. The buses have been retrofitted to include shelves filled with clothing, a waiting area, a shoe-fitting station, and dressing rooms. School personnel sign up eligible students for the program and service students on the school’s scheduled date. Students are then fitted for appropriate sizes and can try items on before making their final selections.

New kicks for kids

“We are extremely grateful for the wonderful support from the 澳博体育app下载 Foundation,” said Aimee Runyon, ALP CEO. “The grant funding will provide 137 impoverished children with new athletic shoes. Your donation was matched by the BHHS Legacy Foundation, allowing us to serve 274 children in need. Our program serves 15,000 children in grades K-8 at 140 Title schools in the Greater Phoenix area with new clothing, shoes, and hygiene items.

On behalf of the children and families that we serve, thank you!”
